Mission

The Zelaki Project builds accessible, locally repairable plastic-recycling systems that convert waste into economic opportunity while cultivating globally minded youth innovators.

Through equitable partnerships between Ethiopian and U.S. universities, Zelaki trains “Zelaki Fellows”: young engineers and designers who build and operate small-scale recycling machines, create useful products from waste, and develop sustainable micro-enterprises that strengthen community resilience.
